people

From what we have been talking about in class regarding how your test scores tell you how much you will be making in the future is not right. One reason why is because there are people out there who are not very good test takers but are determination. Success isnt determined from a test you take when your a junior but whether you are driven enough in something you love to do. With what we talked about in class about the wealthy, the average, and the poor is not suprising. The term the term "the rich just keep on getting richer" is a good statement for that. But, the rich do pay bigger taxes and do give money to charities. The average people do have more to worry about with less job security. The poor dont have much to worry about becuase they are used to not having much and don't expect much.

You are correct some individuals scoring outside of the averages that I showed you in class, but it is the averages that we are exploring. Remember the reading we had about categories and stereotypes? We are looking at the category of income. On average, the higher one's income, the higher the average ACT score for that category of income. It is similar to smoking. Some smokers will live to be 80 years old, but on average smokers die younger with certain diseases. So if you are in that category you have a higher risk of that. Be careful not to assume that I am stereotyping the test takers based on their income.
